Welcome back! Here are the updates for this week.
6th Religion
The test on Unit 5 will be on Thursday, May 8th. Then we will begin a series of lessons on the life and miracles of Jesus, starting with the faith of the Centurion.
6th Social Studies
The test on Topic 8, the Roman Empire, is on Tuesday, May 6th. On Wednesday, we will begin our last unit on Medieval Europe.
7th Religion
The students will take their test on Unit 5 on Monday, May 5th. Then, we will begin a series of lessons from unit 6 on worship- in liturgy and in life. We will start with learning about confession and absolution of sins within the context of the parable of the Prodigal Son, Jesus healing the paralytic, and the story of David and Bathsheba.
7th Social Studies
In social studies, we will study the effects of the Emancipation Proclamation and civilian life during the Civil War, before studying the final battles that brought the Union victory. The test on Topic 8 will be on Thursday, May 15th.
8th Religion
On Monday, the students will be presenting the church models that they have been diligently building for the last few weeks. Then, we will learn about how the Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled in the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. We will specifically focus on His miraculous birth.
8th Social Studies
On Monday, we will wrap up Topic 15 by studying a brief overview of the Vietnam War. The test on Topic 15 will be on Friday, May 9th. Next week, the students will begin working on their final research project of the year, a study on the important historical and cultural moments of the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.
