Hello Parents! I hope you all had a wonderful and restful Easter and Spring break! I know I probably say this often but I really can’t believe that we are in the home stretch. Time is flying by. Mrs. Maldonado and I can’t even think about saying goodbye to our class. We are beginning to practice our Graduation Songs this week and we can’t wait for you all to hear them!

We are continuing with Theme 7 and starting unit 2 “What’s in the Sky?” BIG Idea: I see how the sky is different during the day and at night. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about their environment by investigating characteristics of the natural world. Social-Emotional Focus: Curiosity. The theme vocabulary words include: lighting, moon, sky, stars, sun and thunderstorm. Math vocabulary words include: flip, sphere, rhombus, turn and slide.

We will be reviewing the alphabet, focusing on beginning sounds, reviewing numbers 1-20, shapes and colors. We will continue to do our weekly journals on Friday’s. We will be reading the books “Little Cloud”, “Mommy’s Little Star”, and “What the Sun/Moon Sees”. We also will begin working on our Mother’s Day crafts. Please keep an eye on our Classdojo for any upcoming events and important news.

For Jesus Time, Mrs. Maldonado will discuss the story of Philip and the Ethiopian with the children. We will continue to sing our Jesus time songs and pray before snack and lunch. We will also begin practicing our Graduation songs!

I will be sending homework packets out on Monday which will be due the following Monday when we return from Spring Break.
