Spring is finally in full bloom. Spring flowers are budding on the trees and daffodils and crocuses have sprung. It is the perfect backdrop to start our new learning theme, “How Do Plants Grow?”
This week we will be learning all about what plants need and how they grow. We will be creating beautiful flower crafts to decorate our room with. We will also learn about how flowers take nutrients and water from the soil through their roots and conduct the “Colored Water Dyeing Carnations” science experiment. We will sing the flower life cycle fingerplay and count flower petals in math. In our science area, we will also grow green beans in plastic bag greenhouses.
This week we will celebrate Palm Sunday together and possibly hold a palm parade while we sing, “Hosanna.” Our additional religion lesson is Voyages 32 (Peter and the Crippled Man).
