Hello Parents! I hope you all had a wonderful and restful Winter break! This is usually when the end of the year starts to fly by! Mrs. Maldonado and I are hoping for some warmer weather so we can start going back outside.

Important Reminders:

  1. Read Across America week will be from 3/4-3/7! Keep a close eye on our Classdojo for our theme days and fun activities!
  2. Trinity Book Fair – March 5th (more information to come)

We are continuing Theme 5 “Imagine It, Make It”  and starting Unit 3 “Things We Build”. BIG Idea: I can use different materials to make new things. Knowledge Focus: Children learn how imagination and creativity shape our world. Social-Emotional Focus: Initiative. The theme vocabulary words include: construct, materials, invention and plan. Math vocabulary words include: flip, rotate, structure, taller and wider.

We will be learning the letter Ss, number 17 and continue to review shapes and colors. We will continue to recap our week in our weekly journal on Friday. We will be reading the books “The Three Little Pigs”, “White Rabbit’s Color Book”, “Buildings” and continue “Alphabet Under Construction”. We will continue to learn about influential people of color to honor Black History Month. This week we are taking a closer look at George Washington Carver’s life and the impact he had on society.

For Jesus Time, Mrs. Maldonado will discuss how Jesus loves the children and ways we can see that in our everyday lives. They will also discuss how Jesus teaches about the birds and the flowers! We will also sing the song “Jesus Loves Me” and our “Love in a Box” song. Next Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent! We will begin our Lent packet starting in March.
