Dear Parents,

This week, the children were busy getting back into their class routines.  They were so excited to see their friends!  In preparation for parent/teacher conferences, the children practiced tracing their names and going over letters, numbers, shapes and colors.  We spoke to the children about the cold weather and what we wear in cold weather.  They had fun making a hat and mitten craft to decorate our room.  We also made “melted snowmen” and a polar bear craft from fork painting.

This coming week, we will learn about the different types of arctic animals.  We will be learning about polar bears and snowy owls, and make some fun crafts.  We will also be learning all about Martin Luther King Jr. and why he was such an important part of our history.

For religious instruction, we will be teaching the children about “Jesus in the Temple.”  Miss Kelly and I will be leading Chapel this week.

IMPORTANT DATES AND REMINDERS:

  • Friday, January 17th – NO SCHOOL for Parent/Teacher Conferences
  • Monday, January 20th – NO SCHOOL for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Have a good night!
