Hello Parents & happy 2025! I hope everyone enjoyed the much needed Christmas break! I hope everyone got some rest and had a wonderful Holiday. This is the point of the school year where time starts to fly by! Before we know it, it will be June again!
Important Dates & Announcements:
- Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Friday, 1/17. There will be NO school for students. More information to come this week!
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day – January 20th (NO SCHOOL)
- Winter Break – February 17th – February 21st (NO SCHOOL)
We are going back to our Big Day for Pre-K curriculum and starting theme 4 “Awesome Animals”, week 1 titled “All Kinds of Animals!”. BIG IDEA: I live in a world full of animals. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about life science through the exploration of animals and animal life cycles. Social-Emotional Focus: Attention. The theme vocabulary words include: animal, climb, feathers, fly, fur, scales, shell, slither and swim. Math vocabulary words include: height, length and order.
We will be learning the letter Mm, number 11 and continue to review shapes and colors. We will be reading the books “Biggest, Strongest, Fastest”, “Big Earth, Little Me”, “Roar! A Noisy Counting Book”, “Is Your Mama a Llama?”, and “Chicken Soup with Rice”. To go along with the book “Chicken Soup with Rice”, we will be enjoying chicken soup with rice in class this upcoming Friday! Lastly, we will recap this short week in our weekly journals.
Our focus this week will be all things snow and snowmen! We will create a snowman project that will be displayed in our hallway. Pictures will be displayed via ClassDojo.
For Jesus time, Mrs. Maldonado will teach the children about the story of The Three Wise Men and the story of Epiphany.
Progress Report testing will begin this week and continue until parent-teacher conferences on Friday, January 17th. More information will be posted via ClassDojo regarding times.
