Our last week of school before Christmas is here, we cannot believe how fast the days have been going! Our classroom is nicely decorated, and our elf Snowflake Jangle or SJ has enjoyed being in our classroom and reporting back to Santa! We have been making Christmas crafts, ornaments and we will continue to enjoy making more.
Joke of the Week: What do elves learn in school?
Language Arts- This week we will continue Unit 4 of our Wonder’s series. We will learn two new sight words “do” and “my” and we will focus on the letter Oo and its long and short sound. We will continue blending sounds to make a word and identifying the middle sounds in CVC words. In grammar, we will be learning about describing words- adjectives- and how we can describe things using colors, shapes, and sizes.
Language Arts Centers- This weeks centers will be identifying middle sounds in CVC words.
Math- This week we complete Module 6 – Put Together and Take Apart Within 5 and have a test our Tuesday.
Math Centers- We will continue to practice addition and subtraction problems.
Jesus Time- We will continue to learn about the reason for the Christmas season and read the stories leading up to Jesus’s birth. Each week we continue to “light” a candle on our advent wreaths, make crafts and watch videos to reinforce what we read.
Social Studies: We will discuss and watch videos on Christmas and the different ways people celebrate. We will also discuss different types of transportation we can use to travel to family for the holidays!
