Over the past few weeks, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the kindness that is shown in 2AA. The students lift each other up in so many ways and are very quick to lend a helping hand when someone is struggling. At a young age, they set a great example for the entire school for how to act towards each other. I am so proud of my second graders!

Here’s a look at what we will be learning this week!

Math– The students will practice writing, reading, and relating base ten numbers in all forms. They will then begin to relate what they have learned about place value to money.

Reading- We will be reading the story Thanksgiving on Thursday from the Magic Tree House series. Jack and Annie will travel back to 1621 on the first Thanksgiving Day. Please check out the Magic Tree house website with your child to learn more about this great reading series.   Magic Tree House Website

Science-  The students will be reviewing their Chapter 3 tests and we will begin a new chapter on life cycles this week.

Social Studies- We will continue traveling back in time to learn about life long ago. We have been comparing different sources to discover more about what life was like for the Pilgrims and the Native Americans.

Religion- The story of “God gives Hannah a Son” will help the children learn about the power of prayer. We will create our own prayers for ourselves, each other and the world.
