Hello Parents! Mrs. Maldonado and I had a wonderful time at our ECC Annual Picnic this past Friday!!! The weather was amazing and the children seemed to really enjoy themselves! On a more sad note, I can’t believe this is our last full week of school!!!! We are full steam ahead and will be continuing to complete all of our Father’s day crafts, prepare for Graduation, and wrap up the year. I can’t believe how fast this year flew by. I can’t even begin to think about Graduation. Mrs. Maldonado and I are definitely going to have a hard time saying goodbye.
We will begin sending home items that are not being used. Please send in a large shopping bag by Monday, June 3rd!
Important Dates –
- Hawaiian Day – Monday, June 3rd– dress in anything Hawaiian!
- Camping Day – Tuesday, June 4th – dress in PJs or comfy clothes!
- Popsicle Day – Wednesday, June 5th – children are encouraged to wear the color of their favorite popsicle!
- Sports Day – Thursday, June 6th – dress in favorite sports team!
- Character Day – Friday, June 7th – children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite storybook character!
- Last full day of school is Monday, June 10th!
- Pre-K Graduation – June 11th (details posted on our ClassDojo)
We are ending Theme 8 unit 4 “We’re Big Now!” This will be our last unit in our entire curriculum! BIG Idea: Look at what I can do now. Knowledge Focus: Children reflect on all the ways they have grown and changed during the year. Social-Emotional Focus: Persistence. The theme vocabulary words include: kindergarten, practice, proud, succeed and success. Math vocabulary words include: heavier, heavy, light, lighter and weight.
We are continuing to review letters A-Z, numbers 1-20, shapes, colors, counting by 10’s and sight words. We will be reading the books “Miss Kindergarten Gets Ready For Kindergarten”, “If You Take A Mouse To School” and “My New School”. We will be discussing ocean creatures, things you find at the beach, and summer!!
For Jesus Time, we will be practicing our Graduation songs and reciting The Lord’s Prayer. We will continue to pray before snack and lunch.
