During Science Friday on the 8th, both classes got together to do activities relating to our weather unit.  Mrs. Vetter and I have found bringing the students together to do experiments, projects, and writing activities has been a great way to immerse them in the concepts we are learning in Science and Social Studies!

Week of: November 11-15

Spelling: fought, bought, nor, haul, ought, forest, sport, thought, daughter, port, sort, record, taught, brought, forth, because, fought, report, forty, caught

Vocabulary:  blockade, elevate, jagged, urgent

Writing Journal Assignment:  Think about something you like to do by yourself.  Write a paragraph that includes details about the activity and why you enjoy doing it alone.

Math: Multi-step problems using formulas for perimeter and area

Science: Review Chapter 6; Test next week

Social Studies: Test on Chapter 2

Reading: Ongoing free reading in class, reading notebook, conferencing

Language Arts:  Common and proper nouns

Religion: daily devotions

Tests:

  • Wednesday – Social Studies Chapter 2
  • Thursday – Memory Quiz
  • Friday – Spelling
