Hello Parents! I hope everyone had a great weekend! A gentle reminder to please have your children wear sneakers every day. We will still be going out on the playground if the weather permits. Due to their safety, they will not be able to go on the playground without sneakers. Also, please continue to keep a close eye out on our Classdojo as all important dates and information will be posted on there.

- Special Person’s Day – May 10th, details were sent home and posted on our ClassDojo (only 1 person per child)
- Staff Professional Development Day – May 23rd, no school for students
- Memorial Day Weekend – May 24th-27th, no school for students
- ECC Annual Family Picnic – May 31st, more details to come
- Pre-K Graduation and Last Day of School – June 11th (more details to come in the following month)
We are finishing up Theme 7 with our last unit 4 “The Seasons”. BIG Idea: I notice how the seasons change. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about the seasons and how they change. Social-Emotional Focus: Curiosity. The theme vocabulary words include: branches, fall, leaf, season, spring, summer, twigs and winter. Math vocabulary words include: pattern and repeat.
We will continue to review letters A-Z, numbers 1-20, shapes, and colors. We will continue to learn how to count by 10’s and do our weekly journal on Friday’s. We will also begin to learn sight words this week! We will continue to read the books The Apple Pie Tree”, “What Will The Weather Be?”, “What Makes The Seasons?”, “Look, Listen and Learn” and “Weather” to go along with our theme of the week.
We will continue to work on our Mother’s Day crafts and they will be sent home this Friday in lieu of the upcoming holiday. We will also be focusing on all things butterflies! We are impatiently waiting for our butterflies to come out of their chrysalis’! We will be focusing on the life cycle of a butterfly and create a butterfly symmetry craft and virtually visit a butterfly farm! Lastly, our Special Person’s Day is this Friday! We can’t wait to have these special guests visit our classroom and make a fun craft!
For Jesus Time, Mrs. Maldonado will be reading the story of how Jesus knows my name. We will also continue to practice our Graduation songs in preparation for the end of the year program!
