Hello fabulous fourth grade families,
It is hard to believe that it is the final week of April. Please know that your child may begin to wear their uniform shorts to school starting on Monday April 22nd. As the weather begins to get warm please remind your child to continue to bring a sweater to school as they may get chilly with the A.C. on.
ELA: This week in ELA will be starting our next class read aloud, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, by Judy Blume. We will begin a novel study focusing on revisiting skills taught throughout the year and applying them to authentic literature. We will work on finishing our Personal Narratives, which should be completed by Friday.
Math: This week in math we will start module 17, two-dimensional figures. Please see the resources on google classroom. There will be a quiz on Monday May 6th, and a test on Tuesday May 7th.
Religion: In Religion we will continue learning about the Parables of Jesus.
Social Studies: This week in S.S. will continue Chapter 6 – Social Change and the Civil War. We will be learning about the changes that fueled the start of the civil war. Our next social studies project is a choice board. Your child may pick any choice and complete it in relation to the time period around the Civil War. This project is due on May 3rd.
Science: In science we will continue to learn about the human body as we make our life size human bodies. We should be finished with our life-sized human bodies by the middle of next week! Be sure to be on the lookout for them coming home!
Blessings,
Ms. Stainkamp
