Hello everyone! Hope you had a good weekend. Please continue to check their green folders for any important notices or information. This week is a regular week for tests. This week will be the last week tests will be read to them. We have been starting to do a page a week by ourselves and I believe now they are ready to go on their own. This is a nice preparation for 2nd grade because they do not get their tests read to them at all. We also have WINGO this Friday! I hope to see you all there its going to be a great night. Spelling – 3x each or 10 sentences is due Wednesday. Our spelling test will be on Friday and our new words this week are: spoil, coin, join, joy, toy, boy, town, mouse, build, fall
Math – This week we will continue our module 10. This is diving deeper into place value. We have gone over numbers where the tens place is more than 1. Now we will go into the hundreds place. Our next math test will fall on 5/8 (Wednesday).
ELA – This week we will learn about a new dipthong “oi” and “oy”. We will review inflectional endings and we will learn about “le” staying together in a syllable. For example in certain words such as turtle, bottle, paddle, candle. Our vocabulary words this week are balance – will not fall and section – a small part. Our new HF words are: above, build, fall, knew, money, toward
Writing – We have begun writing our own stories! The stories they are writing are about a special moment in their lives.
Social Studies – We will be learning about the continents and oceans.
