Important Notes:
Tests: Please sign and return test slips when sent home. It is strongly encouraged that you review the tests. Test errors will always be reviewed with your child in school; in most cases, the children are able to make their corrections independently.
Homework: If your child has difficulty completing homework on any given night, please let me know with a quick note or email. This will help me focus my attention on particular concepts that need further review well before it is time for assessment. If homework cannot be completed on any given night due to other reasons, please let me know. Incomplete/missing homework is expected to be made up. Thank you!
A shoe tying competition has taken place in the second grade! We congratulated and awarded those who were successful and encourage those still learning to continue practicing tying at home. Eventually, I believe every second grader will be successful and receive recognition! Laces are often untied throughout the school day and it has become a safety issue. Let’s support the children towards independence and learning to tie! Thank you!
Second Graders are looking for Mystery Readers for the months ahead! Would you like to visit our classroom and read a book to us? We’d love to have you come and visit! Please consider and email me so we can arrange a day and time!
On Friday, many children came to school dressed as their favorite book characters! Thank you for supporting their participation in this schoolwide event!
Parents are always welcome to join us in chapel on Wednesdays. This Wednesday the second grade will be leading chapel. Please join us in the church at 8:30.
Green Day (St. Patrick’s Day) will be celebrated on Friday 3/15. Children may wear green (free dress down day), and we will be having a special snack and activity provided by our class moms. Thank you all for helping make this possible.
Trinity will be visited by Author David Ira Rottenberg who will be reading his story, Gwendolyn the Graceful Pig, a story that is about pursuing what you love. Please return the pink slips/money by Monday 3/11 if you are interested in purchasing an autographed copy of this book for your child.
Have a beautiful week ahead.
