Hello everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Please continue to check their green folders for any important information or notices. Go over their orange folder to see what we are working on in ELA and what will be on their reading test. Set aside time for them to read every night as well. This week is also SPIRIT week!! A notice was sent home about what each day is. Just in case it got lost I put the days down below. Any questions or concerns let me know!
Spelling – 3x each is due on Wednesday and our spelling test will be on Friday. Our new spelling words this week are: book, look, cook, took, hood, woo, nose, cute, buy, done
Math – We will continue our module 6 on addition and subtraction word problems. Their next math test will be Tuesday, January 30th.
ELA – This week we will be learning about the digraph “oo” and how it makes the short “u” sound like you hear in “book”. We will also be learning about when we see a verb with a vowel and consonant at the end we must double the consonant before adding -ed or -ing. For example “stop” —- “stopped”. We will be going over “not” contractions as well. Our HF words are: after, buy, done, every, soon, work
Writing – We will start the beginning process of writing our own story book. Our first lesson will be about reading a story and learning about quotations.
Science – We will go into our second lesson about roots and branches. We will be learning this through a STEM activity.
