Dear Parents,
Last week we read the book “The Mitten” by Jan Brett. The children made a mitten project and drew what they wanted to put inside of their mitten. We also did a scholastic worksheet and learned the difference between pushing and pulling.
This coming week we will learn about the letter M for mitten. The students will learn how to sound out and write the letter M. The students will learn all about Martin Luther King and why he was such a prominent figure in history, and still is today. For math instruction, the students will do “winter counting activities.” They will also learn how to write the number 2.
For religious instruction, we will learn about how “Jesus was once a baby boy.”
Reminders:
- January 15th – NO SCHOOL for Martin Luther King Day.
- January 19th – ECC Parent/Teacher Conferences (NO SCHOOL for students).
- Don’t forget to send in a helmet if you haven’t done so already. The weather is getting too cold to go outside, therefore the children will be riding tricycles in the MPR during recess. If they don’t have a helmet, they will have to sit out during that time. They will have coloring sheets to work on.
Have a Blessed Day!
