Hopefully everyone enjoyed a peaceful and happy holiday season with their families.  It was nice to have such a long break to really savor some quality family time, I’m sure.  Classes begin again on January 2nd and we have big plans for our toddler bunch this new year, 2024.

Bundle up for some snowy day adventures this week!  We will start our new year with a unit of study on ice and snow.  We will explore the changes the season of winter brings and discover the science behind how water freezes into ice.  We will investigate snow and ice hands on in our sensory table and create a number of snowy day inspired art projects.  In addition, we will count snowflakes and sing the finger plays, “Five Chilly Snowmen” and “Snowflake, Snowflake.”

This week, we will also enjoy some winter themed play centers and activities.  We will have a hot chocolate barista play station,  ice castle block building, ice sensory play, a snowman counting station and we will enjoy a number of winter tales from some popular children’s authors.  We will also praise God for giving us winter.  It is in experiencing the cold and dark of winter that we come to appreciate the warmth of God’s love for us.  We will praise Him with the songs, “This Little Light of Mine” and “The B I B L E.”
