Hello everyone! I can’t believe it is already December, the time is going by so fast. Please continue to check their green folders for any important notices or forms. Make sure they are setting time aside for themselves to read for at least 10 minutes to improve fluency. This Saturday we have our Santa breakfast! It will be very fun and I will be there to help!
Spelling – 3x each is due on Wednesday and our spelling test will be on Friday. Our new words this week are: whip, whale, catch, match, chin, graph, many, around
Math – This week we will continue working on our fourth module. This module is all about addition and subtraction. Students need to make sure they are looking at the signs before adding or subtracting. Our next math test will be on Wednesday 12/13. We also will be doing a fact family tree math craft that will look great out in our halls for the month of December!
ELA – This week we will be working on more digraphs. Specifically -ph, -ch, -itch and – wh. Please review these sounds when you can to make sure they are practicing and know when those letters come together they make a brand new sound. Our HF words this week are: around, many, by, place, walk
Writing – This week we are going to be journaling about the month of December. We will also be doing a writing craft based around the story “Tough Cookie”. They will be learning about cause and effect throughout the story.
Social Studies – We will be working on our next lesson in our citizens and responsibilities unit. This lesson will be about making choices in our government such as voting and debates.
