Hello fabulous fourth grade families,

I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! I am looking forward to learning many new concepts this week with this amazing fourth grade class! Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:

ELA: This week in ELA we will be reading our first drama, to help us answer the question: How do animal characters change familiar stories? We will be reading the texts: A Grasshoppers Sad Tale, The Ant and The Grasshopper, and Ranita: The Princess Frog. There will be a vocabulary and comprehension test on Thursday. In grammar we will review all the skills we have learned so far this year. In writing we will continue to write our argumentative essay answering the question: Should people be forced to evacuate during a natural disaster?

Math: This week in math we begin modules 8, multiplying multi-digit numbers. It is important to continue to review fact fluency at home to reinforce the skills taught in school. As always helpful videos and resources can be found on Google Classroom.

Religion: This week we will continue our study of the old testament lessons, focusing on Genesis chapters 3, the story of Cain and Abel.

Social Studies: This week in S.S. we will finish our second chapter of S.S.: Three Worlds Meet. There will be a test on Friday 12-1. Please be sure to review the review sheet that will be completed on Monday.

Science: In science we will be starting our second unit of study, Waves of Sound. We will be focusing on the question: How can we see sound?

Blessings,
Ms. Stainkamp
