Last week we had fun exploring spooky creatures like spiders and bats.  We learned that God loves all of His creation, even the spooky ones.  This week we will enjoy more spooky, silly and scary activities as we enjoy our pumpkin parties on Monday and Tuesday.  We will read some not-so-scary stories and discuss what it means to feel scared or silly.  We will brainstorm some strategies for calming ourselves down when we get scared.  Some activities we have for our parties will include special orange party snacks and drinks, spider web hop scotch, silly-scary music/dancing including, “The Five Scary Monsters” fingerplay, pumpkin sensory table play and design your own pumpkin inspired cupcake take home treat.  Please remember to wear orange on these special theme days.  Please, no costumes on these days, only orange clothing.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Wednesday starts the month of November.  We will begin learning about the changes the season of fall has brought to our community.  We will notice the leaves on the trees and how they have changed since the summer.  We will discuss the colors of the fall leaves and the learn to name the colors of fall.  Our art projects will include paintings using the fall colors.  We will thank God for all the beautiful fall colors that he has gifted us with and we will praise Him through the song, “Thank Him, Thank Him.”

Please note that beginning on Wednesday, 11/1 our class dismissal time changes to 11:45am.
