This Week in Art
I can hardly believe it is the first week of November! Our Preschoolers will have loads of fun dipping their fingers into red, yellow, brown and orange paints to make some Native American Indian corn for a special wreath decoration. Speaking of decorating…our Third and Fourth graders will start making the Thanksgiving centerpieces for our school wide feast this year. Look out for pictures while they are in the process!!! Kindergarten will continue with their unit on self-portraits while Second Grade will finish up their Wild Thing Construction paper collages. First Grade will enjoy a slideshare of artist Winslow Homer’s beautiful watercolor paintings. The class will paint a watercolor picture but will be asked to leave some areas (ex. clouds, white objects, white fur of animals) white on their paper.
The Fifth Grade class will continue to work on their Shades of Gray chalk pastel pictures as Sixth Grade begins painting their sketches using the pointillism technique. Seventh graders will color in the realistic side of their Split-face Self-portraits while Eighth Grade continues work on their Fingerprint Frenzy drawings.
Art Elective finished their Fall Votive Candle Holders and will start working on their Christmas Ornament project this week.
Keep Creating!
