F is for farm! Last week, we began discovering the farm and the animals of the barnyard. We discussed the importance of farms as growers of food and we learned about the animals that live at the barnyard and what they are used for. We talked about pigs, cows and chickens.
This week, we will discover more about horses, sheep and goats as we continue to explore the barnyard. We will sing the songs, “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” and “The Farmer in the Dell.” We will create more barnyard animal crafts. We will enjoy a variety of stories each day describing life on a farm and we will use blocks to create pretend barnyards and pens for our toy barnyard animals. We will praise God for the goodness he has given us with the song, “My God Is So Great.”
We will explore the barnyard first hand on our field trip to White Post Farms this Thursday, October 19. The following day, Friday, October 20th, we will be closed for staff development. It should be fun to enjoy these upcoming barnyard adventures together!
