Greetings to one and all! Here are the updates for this week.
6th Religion
This week we will study Abraham and his son Isaac. The main theme of these lessons is that God keeps His word and we need to only trust in His promises. There is no memory verse this week.
6th Social Studies
The test on Topic 1 will be on Friday, September 29th. The students will receive their review on Monday. The review is what they will need to study for the test. We will correct it together in class on Tuesday. The next unit will be on the first civilization- Mesopotamia and the Fertile Crescent.
7th Religion
In religion this week, the students will be working on a project in which they will be comparing and contrasting different religions to Christianity. They will present the projects in class on Friday. The memory verse this week is Psalm 119:105.
7th Social Studies
The students have their test on Topic 1 on Friday, September 29th. We will correct their review on Monday. They will also work on the holiday project this week when we are not reviewing.
8th Religion
This week we will be focusing on Abraham – the promises God made to him, Abraham praying for his hometown, and how much he trusted God when he was asked to sacrifice his son. Through these lessons we will learn about God keeping His promises to us and how we should pray to God. The memory work for this week is the Lord’s Prayer.
8th Social Studies
In social studies, We will look at life during the Civil War, including letters written by soldiers describing life on the battlefield. Then, we will study the leaders and strategies that brought the Union victory. The test on Topic 8- The Civil War- will be on Wednesday October 4th.
