7th Religion
In religion this week, we will look at how God protects us throughout all the storms of life, literal and metaphorical, and then we will study why God blesses us despite our sinful nature. The short answer is because He loves us, but we will get more in depth into the scriptures that talk about this. There is no memory verse this week.
7th Social Studies
In social studies this week, we will conclude our study of Topic 5 with a lesson on the presidency of James Monroe. Then we will begin reviewing for the Topic 5 test, which will be on Tuesday, March 21st. The students will be writing an essay on this test, so we will go over how to set that up and some important points that should be touched upon in the essay.
8th Religion
In eighth grade religion, we too are studying the ups and downs of the kings of Israel and Judah. We will study Hezekiah’s faithful prayer, the mistakes of Manasseh, and how Josiah turned his life around and led his people back to God. There is no memory verse this week.
8th Social Studies
Last week we focused on the culture, music, and life of the 1920s, and this week we will get into the economic downturn, the Great Depression, that began in 1929 with the stock market crash. We will examine primary source documents from this time period to help us see the full picture of how difficult life was for all Americans. Next week we will review Topic 13, and the test will be on Thursday, March 23rd.
