Hello Parents! I hope everyone enjoyed the week long break! It was definitely much needed! I am so excited that we have a theme week upon our return to school! I love theme days. I feel as though they excite the children and make the days so much more fun.
Important Reminders:
- This week is Read Across America! We will celebrate with a Dr. Seuss themed week. All theme days can be found on the flyer posted on our ClassDojo. If you have any questions, please reach out.
- World’s Finest Chocolate fundraiser money is due Monday, 2/27. The amount of $60 should be returned with each child in the given envelope.
We are finishing up Theme 5 with our last unit 4 “Art All Around Us”. BIG Idea: I enjoy art that other people create. Knowledge Focus: Children learn how imagination and creativity shape our world. Social-Emotional Focus: Initiative. The theme vocabulary words include: appreciate, art, artist, artwork, dance, design, music and sculpture. Math vocabulary words include: area, bigger and smaller.
We will be learning the letter Ss, number 18 and continue to review shapes and colors. In honor of Read Across America, we will be reading the books “One Fish, Two Fish”, “Fox in Socks”, “Wacky Wednesday”, “Green Eggs and Ham” and “The Cat in the Hat.” We will be creating various crafts to go along with our Dr. Seuss themed reading week! Keep and eye out on our ClassDojo for pictures!
For Jesus Time, Mrs. Gonzalez will discuss how Jesus stops a storm. We will also continue to discuss Ash Wednesday and the meaning behind Lent. We will continue to sing our many Jesus songs in preparation for Easter.
