This will be a short week but a busy week for second grade!
The children sang their hearts out this past Tuesday evening at the Christmas show. I know they made everyone smile! ( Isn’t that what Christmas is all about? ) They were all dressed so beautifully and were so nervous but excited to perform for you all.
Thank you to our class moms Mrs. King and Mrs. Bumpass who helped coordinate our Christmas party with Santa! Thank you to Santa, who, at such a busy time of year, stopped by with gifts for all the Trinity children! It was so nice to come together with kindergarten and first grade once again to celebrate Christmas. We thank everyone who helped donate food and goodies for the party to help make it a delicious lunch and those who helped make our luncheon festive as well with tablecloths and paper goods. Thank you to all parents and grandmas for sending in the books for the children. They were all very excited about their surprise gifts. Our class moms have so kindly planned on ornaments to be made this coming week, so will have lots of fun!
We’ve been focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. Together, we have completed the story, The Story of Christmas, a magical collection of mini books. As we took the journey through the events that led to the birth of Jesus these past few weeks, every second grader read a part.
We have completed our tradition writing and soon each child’s writing will be part of a special classroom book to be shared and enjoyed.
This week will be a very short week and so we will be reviewing concepts in both math and reading.
Tuesday will be a N.U.T. Day. Children are encouraged to wear an “ugly Christmas sweater” and bring along a $5 donation for the yearbook. Thank you!
Our Christmas vacation will begin on Wednesday, December 21. We return back to school on Tuesday, January 3.
I would like to extend wishes to all families for a very peaceful and beautiful Christmas with your loved ones. May God bless our new year ahead!
Mrs. Ryan
