This week we continued on our advent wreath.  We discussed what the candle “peace” represents and sang “Silent Night.”  We also made a cute craft of Jesus in the manger.  We had so much fun singing at our Christmas show and celebrating with our family and friends!

This week we will be learning more about advent traditions and what the candle “joy” represents.  The students will learn about the letter Hh for holiday and the sound it makes.  We will also be making Christmas crafts for the children to bring home and decorate the tree.

During Math we will continue counting the days until the birth of Jesus.  We will also be reinforcing counting skills through Christmas tree math mats.  The students will use kid friendly “squeezers” to add the correct amount of pom poms to the Christmas tree.  This will also add fine-motor strengthening to the activity.

During Jesus time we will continue learning about the birth of Jesus.
