We had a great week learning all about turkeys and feathers. The children created fun turkey crafts while learning all about them. We read many cute stories and loved having the children present their “disguise a turkey” project! The children really enjoyed the story “How to Catch a Turkey” by Adam Wallace and Andy Elkerton. We also spent each day practicing for our Christmas show. The children are doing a fantastic job!
Next week we will learn all about the importance of Thanksgiving. We will focus on what it means to be grateful and teach them that it is important to say, “thank you” to the people who do things for them. We will explain to our students why we are grateful to have them in our class and other things we are grateful for. We will read the books, ” I am Thankful” by Sheri Wall, “What is Thanksgiving?” by Michelle Medlock Adams, and ” God Gave us Thankful Hearts” by Lisa Tawn Bergren. These are perfect books to teach children how we should be grateful for everything we have in our lives.
For our Math lesson we will continue to practice our counting skills through completing our number book of turkeys. we will be sending the book home this week.
During Jesus time we will sing the song “Praise Him, Praise Him” and “We Are Thankful to God.”
