The 4th graders have a busy week ahead! Please take a moment to review what we will be covering over this week. It is important that students bring in a charged chromebook to school each day. Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:
ELA: This week in ELA, we will be completing Unit 1 week 4 of the Wonders curriculum. We will be reading 2 shared texts, Experts Incorporated, and Speaking Out to Stop Bullying. We will be examining the skill of Author’s Craft and Claim. We will complete the next lesson in our grammar books, simple predicated. In writing we will continue writing, edit, and finalize our argumentative essays. Our essays will be due on Friday October 28th. There will be a spelling test on 11-5 based on words found in our class read-aloud, The Spiderwick Chronicles.
Math: This week in Math we finish Module 4, Mental Math and Estimation Strategies. Please remember to check google classroom for reteach pages, HW, and helpful handouts or videos. Students are encouraged to practice their fact fluency each night. It is vital that students are familiar and comfortable with their multiplication facts. There will be a quiz on Wednesday 10-26 and a test on Thursday 10-27.
Religion: This week we discuss giving in relation to The Giving Tree.
Social Studies: This week we finish Chapter 2, Three Worlds Meet, exploring New York Native Americans, and explorers. There will be a quiz on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. There is a copy of the completed review sheet on google classroom. All the needed information for the quiz will be on the review sheet.
Science: This week we will continue our first unit in science, exploring the human body, specifically exploring the respiratory and cardiovascular system.
