This Week in Art
ECC ~ To coincide with their unit on The Farm/Farm Animals the preschool classes will be making a sheep that moves its head and tail!
Kindergarten students will be creating a Leaf People Collage. They have been practicing drawing people using different shapes so all this practice will come in handy for this very special fall project.
First graders will be utilizing the art element of space as they learn how to draw objects that are close up and also way in the distance. After watching a video clip of the Poppies Scene from the movie The Wizard of Oz, the class will draw the poppy field landscape and one of the characters from the movie.
Second grade will finish up their folk art project this week.
Third graders will continue their drawings of a vase with sunflowers and will use oil pastels for color.
Students in the Fourth Grade will finish up their Graphic Stencil Design project this week.
Fifth grade students will add the glue borders to their leaf abstract drawings for their Batik project.
Our Sixth Grade class will continue painting The River Seine using the pointillism technique from the artist Seurat.
Seventh graders will finish up their oil pastel Leaf Abstract drawings this week.
Eighth Grade will learn about the collage style of artist Megan Coyle and will create their own Self-Portrait Paper Collages using photos, magazine picture clippings, words and google images.
Art Elective class has been having fun painting their Shadow Boxes. This week we hope to start glueing down the themed collectibles the students have brought in for their shadow boxes.
Keep Creating and enjoy the lovely fall weather!
