The 4th graders have a busy week ahead! Please take a moment to review what we will be covering over this week. As a reminder, there is no school on Friday for Teacher Professional Development. As the weather is beginning to get chillier please be sure to send your child to school with an appropriate jacket for recess. It is important that students bring in a charged chromebook to school each day. Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:
ELA: This week in ELA, we will be completing our beginning of the year benchmark. Please be sure to have your child get a good night’s sleep, and to have a good breakfast. 🙂 We will complete unit 4 in our vocabulary books. In writing we will begin to draft and organize our argumentative essays. Students will be asked to write an argumentative essay answering the following prompt, Should people be forced to evacuate due to a natural disaster?
Math: This week in Math we begin Module 4, Mental Math and Estimation Strategies. Please remember to check google classroom for reteach pages, HW, and helpful handouts or videos. Students are encouraged to practice their fact fluency each night. It is vital that students are familiar and comfortable with their multiplication facts.
Religion: This week we begin our unit on Prayer. Discussing what prayer is, and how one might pray.
Social Studies: This week we finish Chapter 2, Three Worlds Meet, exploring New York Native Americans, and explorers. There will be a quiz on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. We will complete a worksheet on Thursday. All the needed information for the quiz will be on the review sheet.
Science: This week we will continue our first unit in science, exploring the human body, specifically exploring the nervous system.
I am looking forward to a fantastic week with a fabulous group of fourth graders.
Blessings,
Ms. Stainkamp
