No spelling this week.

Much of our time will be taken up with the Terra Nova testing so our work load is scaled down…..

We will be writing an interview for the main character of the book we just read in class last week.( Frindle. Ask your child about it!!)

We will continue to discuss what God is like, as well as our theme for the year: God will never leave us.

We will complete our writing about a goal we accomplished.

October book report due: 11/4.

This weeks reading log has been cancelled!!! (Taking the tests can be draining on the students minds. I am trying to take some of the pressure off.)

We are doing a good job in the changing rooms for gym. Please continue to encourage your child to maintain his/her self-control at all times.

It’s a short week, but will be a great one!!!

Thanks for all you do to make your children so incredibly wonderful.

As October began I was reminded that it was a year ago that my dad was diagnosed with stage four leukemia. Last Oct., Nov., and Dec.  were difficult for me but I did my best to trust in the Lord and all His perfectness. Things for my dad are going well, very well. He has moved to Florida and I find myself missing him often. Even now though, I am sure that God is in control and is with us during every experience we have. It is positive at times to reflect on what God has brought us through. I have been running Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 through my mind since the month began.

I hope this encourages you in some small way:

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:  a time to be born, and a time to die: a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted: a time to kill, and a time to heal: a time to break down, and a time to build up: a time to weep, and a time to laugh: a time to mourn, and a time to dance: a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together: a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing: a time to seek, and a time to lose: a time to keep, and a time to cast away: a time to tear, and a time to sew: a time to keep silent, and a time to speak: a time to love, and a time to hate: a time for war, and a time for peace.
