Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling- The new words for this week are: how, now, cow, owl, ouch, house, found, out, gown, town, family, school. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework and write 6 sentences (or a story) due by Thursday. Spelling Test will be on Friday.
Phonics- ou, ow, oi, oy, au, aw words
Language Arts- contractions
Reading: We will read the story, The New Friend. The children will read the story again at home. There will be a Reading test on Friday.
Math- Chapter 9 test on Tuesday
Science- Plants
Social Studies- measuring time: past, present, future
calendars; timelines
Weekly Reader- Earth of Wonder
Religion- bible stories about Jesus and His resurrection

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter Recess! It’s good to be back as we begin our last 8 weeks of first grade. We have so much learning and fun things left to do!
Uniform shorts may be worn beginning this week.
I have extra “S” books if your child fills the pages of their current book.
