Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling- The new words for this week are: play, grain, sail, mail, may, rain, way, day, stay, pain, first, right, sometimes. The children will write their spelling words 3x each and write 5 sentences by Thursday. The spelling test will be on Friday. Please remind your child to use at least five words in each sentence.
Phonics- ai, ay words; contractions ‘ll and ‘d
Language Arts- names of months, days, holidays
Reading: We will read the story Where Does Food Come From? The children will read it again at home. The reading test will be on Friday. The children should focus on what the pictures in the story are telling the reader.
Math- I am changing the math test to Wednesday, to give the children an extra day of practice in class and at home.
Social Studies- We are Americans
Weekly reader- Young George Washington
Religion- Jesus’ Miracles
1AA News
Thank you to all who are helping to make our Valentine’s Day so special! Our card exchange and special snacktime will be on Monday.
We will be celebrating the 100th day of school this Friday, February 18th! A 100th day collection bag was sent home for your child to collect 100 small items (of the same thing) and bring it back to school by Thursday. We will give clues to each other as to what we collected!
School will be closed next week for Winter Recess. We will return to school on Monday, February 28th.
