Welcome to the second week of February. 2 more weeks and we will already be at Winter recess! Wasn’t it just Christmas??
February is Dental Health Month and this week we will be learning all about dental health. We will read a Weekly Reader about teeth and watch some videos about how to keep our teeth healthy.
February is also Black History Month. Last week we learned all about Oprah Winfrey, Mae Jemison, and Garret Morgan. This week we will learn about Jackie Robinson and Rosa Parks.
Our Big Day curriculum theme for this week is Tools We Use. We will read Science Tools, and Alphabet Under Construction. Our new vocabulary will be: bridge, build, ramp, structure, and tools.
Our letter for the week is Pp. We will read “Polka Pig”, sing a P song, and make a P is for Pig craft.
For math this week we will be learning #16 and we will be reviewing patterns.
For Jesus time this week we will learn about Jesus choosing the 12 disciples. We will learn a new song called “Follow Me”. We will also visit chapel on Wednesday.
This week we will also take a special trip to the mailbox to mail out Valentine’s cards for mom and dad, so keep your eyes on the mail for a special surprise!
