February book report is due on Tuesday, March 8th.

We are celebrating Black History Month in 6,7,8 by reading short stories, poems, and songs written about or by African Americans.

6th Grade ELA: The sixth graders are going to read some poems by Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, Nikki Giovani, and Dudley Randall. We will read an article by Jackie Robinson.

7th Grade ELA:
Students in seventh grade are going to finish their novels and write an essay. They will read an essay by Alex Haley and his journey of finding his ancestor. We are going to read poems that explore African American perspectives.

8th Grade ELA: The eight grade is going to read a short story by Langston Hughes. We are also going to explore poetry lyrics by Tupac Shakur and Marvin Gaye.

7th Grade Religion: Students in seventh grade are finishing unit 4 and will begin reviewing for a unit test. We will have our unit test on Tuesday, Feb. 15. There will be a memory quiz on 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 on Thursday.
