Welcome back to a new week at Trinity! I really look forward to meeting with all of you during Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday. Here are the updates for this week.

6th Religion

In sixth grade we are still covering the Israelites journey to the Promised Land. This week we will learn about why Moses was not allowed to enter the Promised Land due to his anger issues, and how God can speak to His people through unlikely sources, even a donkey.

6th Social Studies

This week we are studying the cultural achievements of Ancient Egypt, and then the relationship between the Egyptians and the people of Kush (modern day Sudan). Next week will start reviewing for the test on Ancient Egypt. The test will be Tuesday, November 30th.The review will be posted next week.

7th Social Studies

In seventh grade we are starting the Revolutionary War Era. This week we will study the events that lead up to the colonies declaring independence from Britain. The students will learn about the French and Indian War, which caused Britain to go into massive debt, as well as the taxes levied on the colonies to pay for the war debts. This will lead to the debate of whether or not Parliament had the right to tax the colonies without representation.

8th Religion

The eighth grade is learning about the Tabernacle the Israelites built and carried with them to worship in the wilderness. and then we will study the spy mission to scout out the Promised Land. The main theme of both of these lessons is complete trust in God.

8th Social Studies

This week we are continuing to study life in the Old West. We will focus on the cattle industry, the homesteaders, and how the Native Americans were affected by all the settlers moving west.
