Welcome to November! This year is flying by, only 3 weeks until Thanksgiving!

This week we finish Unit 2 in our Big Day Curriculum with the theme “All Kinds of Families”. We will read You and Me Together, and We are all Alike, We are all Different. Our vocabulary words will be: respect, similar, special, and tradition.

Math this week will focus on #8, purple, and octagon. We will also practice sorting with leaves we collect from outside. We will read Harold and the Purple Crayon and make our own purple crayon adventures.

Our letter for this week is the letter Ff. We will read the Friendly Frog story, learn an F song, and make a F is for Family craft.

Jesus time this month will focus on stories that remind us to be thankful. We will first read about Joshua and Jericho and remember to be thankful for our cities and our places to live. We will also learn 2 new thankful songs. We will learn a new song for snack and lunch time: Thank you for the world so sweet, thank you for the food we eat, thank you for the birds that sing, thank you God for everything. Amen.

Science this week will be about leaves. We will collect some leaves from outside and sort and compare the colors, shapes, and sizes. We will read some books about leaves and make a leaf name project, and a leaf hedgehog. We will also make colorful leaf handprints to add to our ECC tree in the hallway.

Tuesday November 2nd is Election Day. School is open. We will learn a little about what it means to vote and then we will vote for our snack.

Have a wonderful, blessed week!
