Welcome to October! Fall is one of my favorite times of the year and we have a lot of fun things in store for us. As we strive to keep everyone safe, please remember to complete the daily attestations each morning prior to coming to school.
We will finish our unit on Friends and Family this week with our last theme – Communication. We will talk about all the different ways to communicate such as phones, mail, and computers. We will develop skills that will help us become good listeners. We will read Grandma’s in the Phone, Say Hello, and Listen Buddy. As we continue to talk about fall and pumpkin season, we will read Five Little Pumpkins. Our crafts this week will be painting fall leaves to decorate our classroom door and making pumpkin suncatchers to decorate our windows.
Our basic concepts for the week are blue, circle and being kind. We will learn the letter Ff and review the letters Hh and Tt. For Jesus time, we will continue practicing “Jesus Loves Me” and “Jesus Loves the Little Children of the World”. This week is also Fire Prevention Week so we will be talking about fire safety with different activities each day. We will also read Pete the Cat: Firefighter and Clifford the Firehouse Dog.
