Autumn Fall Tree Simple Vector Illustration Stock Vector - Illustration of environment, natural: 157325921

In the fading of the summer sun,

The shortening of the days, cooling breeze,

Swallows’ flight and moonlight rays

We see the Creator’s hand

In the browning of leaves once green,

Morning mists, autumn chill

Fruit that falls, frost’s first kiss

We see the Creator’s hand

Important Information and News:

We welcome and thank Mrs. Shannon as she has offered to be class parent for our second grade class! She will be communicating with you in the near future about our upcoming pumpkin/fall celebration taking place at the end of October!

This week was busy for second grade as we began our “jobs.” Ask your second grader what his/her job was! They will have a new job each week. We are responsible for our papers, books, desks, and, of course, our work, actions, and choices as well. We are becoming more organized as we unpack/pack up at the end of the day and settling into our routines. Our novel study on Herbie Sails into Second Grade has ended.  We each shared our opinion of the book and gave a recommendation (or not a recommendation!) for other second graders. We got out of our seats to practice our basic strokes in handwriting! We share the Smart Board with Mrs. Ryan to help answer questions and show what we’ve learned. We used manipulatives in math to better understand numbers. Second grade can be hard work and our days are long. Be sure our friends have a good night’s sleep and breakfast in their bellies so they are ready to do their best each day! Thank you!
