We had a great time learning experiencing solar energy when we made our own pizza box ovens and used them to melt smores!
Here’s what we are into this week:
Spelling: science words, test Friday
Writing: combining sentences, begin personal narrative writing
Reading: Read Wilma Unlimited from reader, science leveled readers. Reading logs due every Monday. September Book Review Due 10/7. October book report due:11/4.
Math: Common Core Place value, Sprints (ask your child!)
S.S.: Chapter 2: test Thursday, 10/3
Science: Chapter 1: Classifying Organisms: test 10/11 Vocabulary quiz: Tuesday 10/8
Bible: October’s character education word is friendship. We will be exploring what the Bible has to say about this and well as reading short stories and discussing friendship. We will be discussing what God is like.
Verse test: 10/9: Hebrews 13:5b :” I will never leave you or forsake you.”
We will begin changing for gym on Tuesday, 10/1. The students are thrilled!!

This week I heard something that I have been thinking about….It is the belief that we should choose to rely on God’s power and reflect the fruit of His Spirit in our lives and homes. It benefits us to dwell in God’s love moment by moment. This will result in our displaying the fruits of the Sprit. At first glance, this seems like it would be simple but after reflecting on it for a bit, I am struck at the depth this requires. To dwell in God’s love moment by moment I need to seek Him continually which is hard, given the distractions of our busy days. My conclusion is that I shouldn’t be daunted by this but challenged. I encourage you this week to live moment by moment feeling God’s love and mercy.
