Second grade is off to a great start!
We welcome everyone back and are happy to announce two new second grade faces here at Trinity, Tylin and Madison! Everyone is acclimating to new routines and learning procedures. Over the last few days together, we spent time catching up with old friends as well as getting to know new ones, shared summer memories, organized our belongings, listened to read alouds, and wrote thoughts and drew pictures about our summer days…
Math Benchmarks will begin this week as they are given in the beginning, middle and end of second grade. The children will be receiving all of their books by the end of the week. We have begun a prayer journal and poetry/writing journal so far. A morning message on our Smart Board greets the children each morning and sets the stage for our day’s activities. I am already so proud to see how responsible they all are! When given independent work, they are hard-working and focused. Wow, they are looking like second graders already!
Thank you for sending in all supplies; most children have everything they need. If there are missing items, I will be in touch to let you know during this week. Please label all belongings, including uniform sweaters.
If ever there is a change from the normal routine in how your child is getting home from school, please send in a note via their Take Home Folder that morning and also call the Main Office regarding the change. I do not always get to read my emails during the busy school day. Thank you!
Our Back to School Night is September 23rd at 7pm on Zoom. Here I will share what the second grade curriculum looks like and familiarize you with what the year has in store for your brand new second grader!
Please feel free to reach out to me with a note in the Take Home Folder or an email if ever you have a question or concern.
I am so excited to begin this new year here at Trinity with your children. God bless our days together!
