Hello Parents! I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Please remember to complete the daily attestations each morning prior to coming to school.
We will continue to review the alphabet, numbers, ten frames and our sight words. Please continue to practice sight words: a, green, and, red, away, blue, big, yellow, can, come, I, for. The sight words for this week are “go” and “down”.
Continuing with the theme for April, Nature All Around Us, this week’s topic is “What’s in the Sky” with the big idea being that we can see how the sky is different during the day and at night. The vocabulary words we will learn this week are: moon, sun, sky, starts, lightning and thunderstorm. We will read the books “Little Cloud” and “Mommy’s Little Star.” For math we will learn the words rhombus, sphere, flip, turn and slide.
Earth Day is on Thursday, April 22, 2021. All week we will talk about what that means and the things we can do to help protect our planet and keep it safe. This week’s Scholastic Weekly Reader, titled “I am going to be recycled!” will teach us the importance of recycling and how it helps our planet. For Jesus time, we will talk about Philip and the Ethiopian.
