Hello Parents! It’s Valentine’s Week in ECC3!! I hope everyone is doing well and had a great weekend. Please remember to complete the daily attestations each morning prior to coming to school.
This week we will continue our letters and numbers. We will be learning the letter Tt and the number 20. We are continuing our theme for the month of February – Imagine it, Make it. Our second unit will focus on the “Tools we Use.” The big idea is that I can use tools to create and build things. The vocabulary words we will learn this week are: bridge, build, tools and structure. We will be reading the books “The Shape of Things,” “Science Tools,” and “Harold and the Purple Crayon.” Continuing to build on the concept of creativity and imagination, we will go on our own purple crayon adventure. The math concepts for this week are next, repeats and patterns.
We will be making a few Valentine’s Day crafts this week. Our Valentine’s Day party will be on Friday and it is ECC Wear Red Day. Please dress your child in something red. We will celebrate the day with yummy treats, Valentine’s Day BINGO, a Mystery Reader and a Surprise Craft Guest over zoom. This week we will also cover Black History Month, Presidents, and Chinese New Year. Our Scholastic Weekly Reader, titled “Let’s Find Out”, will teach us about Mae Jemison, the first black woman to go to space and Young Abe Lincoln, our 16th President. For Jesus time we will continue to talk about Jesus teaching the little children. We will learn about Jesus teaching about the birds and the flowers and how Jesus calmed the storm. Lent begins over Winter Break so we will begin to talk about Lent this week.
