Mrs. Flomer’s Notes for the week of January 18th.

Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!

Spelling- The new words for lesson 14 are: came, make, brave, late, gave, shape. The “R” book words that are on the test are: four, over, two, starts. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework and write 4 sentences by Thursday. The test will be given on Friday.

Phonics- long a, soft c, g, -dge, -ake, -ace

Language Arts- We will read the story The Big Race this week. The children will read it again at home. Some of the skills include expression when reading, informative writing, verbs, conclusions, cause and effect. The reading tests for lesson 14 will be on Friday.

Math- Chapter 6- Tens and ones up to 120
Test on Thursday, 1/21

Social Studies- Book 3- History-Life Long Ago

Religion- Bible stories about Jesus

Weekly Reader- Building a snowman

1AA News

There is no school on Monday, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Please make sure that your child is completing his/her homework neatly each night. The homework should be checked and signed by a parent each night.

Pizza envelopes should be handed in by Thursday mornings!
