This is probably my favorite quote from Martin Luther King Jr. There is so much truth to it, and we need to honor his legacy of peace, by showing love to our neighbors. I hope each of us meditates on this thought on our day off. Here are the updates for this week.

6th Religion

Sixth grade is beginning a new unit this week. We will study God calling Samuel to serve Him as a child, as well as how he continued to serve God as an adult. Then, we will get into the era of the kings, starting with Saul. The memory verse for this week is Hebrews 1:1-2a. The students should study from the Google Classroom.

6th Social Studies

This week the students are working on projects researching cultural advances and inventions from ancient China. They are working in groups, and they will present their projects to the class on Friday. In addition to presenting their research, they are also to create a game or activity for the class that is based on their topic.

7th Social Studies

The seventh grade will have their test on chapter 5 on Friday, January 22nd. You can view the study guide here.

8th Religion

In religion, the student will be studying the book of Ruth, and then the call of Samuel. After that, we will get into the era of the Kings. The memory verse for this week is 1 Peter 2:9.

8th Social Studies

The students will have their test on chapter 19, the Progressive Era, on Wednesday, January 20th. You can view the study guide here. In the next chapter, we will get into the U.S. foreign policy that dominated the late 1800s and early 1900s. which has had major lasting impacts on the U.S. and the world.
