Happy Monday, everyone! We have a lot going on this week, so here are the updates.

6th Religion

Sixth grade will have their test on unit 2 on Friday, January 15th. You may view the study guide here.

6th Social Studies

This week the students will finish learning about the Qin dynasty, famous for the Terracotta Soldiers, and then learn about he accomplishments of the Han dynasty. The students will begin group research projects later in the week. They will research the impact of inventions from ancient China, and will present their projects to the class.

7th Social Studies

This week we will be finishing up chapter 5, the Road to Revolution. The students will learn about he early battles of Lexington and Concord, and the Battle of Bunker Hill. The test will be late next week. You may view the study guide here.

8th Religion

In eighth grade religion we are continuing to study the period of the Judges. We will study Gideon, Samson, and the story of Ruth. The memory verse for this week is Isaiah 6:8. This quiz will be on Friday.

8th Social Studies

In social studies, the eight grade will be learning about the early civil rights leaders, Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Dubois. We will also compare and contrast these leaders to Martin Luther King Jr., in honor of his upcoming birthday. This will be the final lesson of chapter 19, the Progressive Era. The test will be likely be late next week.
