Hello Parents, I hope everyone is doing well and had a nice weekend. Please remember to complete the daily attestations each morning prior to coming to school.
This week we will be learning the letter Pp and the #16. Continuing with the theme for the month of January, Awesome Animals, we will start unit 2, which is called “Animal Homes.” The big idea is that animals have a home just like you and me. We will explore different habitats such as the desert, forest, ocean and rainforest. The vocabulary words for the week include: habitat, hibernate, hive, burrow, nest and woods. For math, we will learn about after and before.
We will be reading the books “Animal Homes”, “Bear Snores On”, and “Click, Clack, Quackity-Quack.” We will also read “Sneezy the Snowman” as we work on our snowman craft. Our Scholastic Weekly reader will be about our friends who live in the arctic. The boys and girls will learn where our new friend, Icicles, (our door polar bear) lives. We will also talk about penguins and make a penguin suncatcher for our windows. For Jesus time we will be talking about little boy Jesus.
