We started using the break out room feature on Zoom to give the students a chance to interact more with each other.  They get to hear each other but this gives them the chance to converse, one on one.  Last week we introduced it with a fun “Would You Rather…” game and now they are working on a group project together about volcanoes.  It’s working our really well!  REMOTE LEARNERS: Remember to keep your books in order at home so that they are easy to find when you need them; check Google classroom for missing assignments at the end of each week  IN PERSON LEARNERS: Remember your headphones and a fully charged Chromebook each day.

SPELLING/VOCABULARY:  annual, basic, competition, contract, dismiss, neglect, obtain, portion, recall, sponsor, stern, vacant (used as vocabulary words this week)

READING:  “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing”; Readworks Article-A-Day Volcanoes series

GRAMMAR: action verbs, main verbs, helping verbs, linking verbs

WRITING: Begin descriptive writing

MATH: Multiply 3 and 4 digit numbers; solve multistep problems

SOCIAL STUDIES: Test on Chapter 2

SCIENCE: The Birth of Rocks Unit, video “Weathering and Erosion”

RELIGION:  Daily devotions; Creation unit

TESTS THIS WEEK:

  • Wednesday – Social Studies Chapter 2
  • Thursday – Vocabulary Test

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • There is no school on Friday, October 23rd
  • Families are welcome to log into Wednesday Chapel services.  Link will be shared on Google Classroom.
  • Next week is Spirit Week, please look for information from the school office on the events for the week.
