I hope this finds each of you well. Please know that I am praying for all of the Trinity families everyday (especially those of you who cannot work from home!), and I look forward to the day when we will all see one another in person again. In the meantime, we must follow Governor Cuomo’s orders and stay home.
Your children are well acclimated to the Google Classroom system, so that should not be a difficulty for them. However, many of your children are not used to checking their email or the Google Classroom unless they know they had an assignment from a specific teacher. I am asking you to please help keep your child accountable and on top of their assignments. I will generally post the task/assignment for the day at 9:00 a.m. If you or your child has any questions, please do not hesitate to email me with any questions.
In addition to the written work through the Google Classroom, I will have a video conference with each class through Zoom, which I will schedule ahead of time. The link to the chat as well as the exact time will be posted on the Google Classroom. If your child cannot attend the Zoom meeting, they will be recorded and posted on the Classroom. For grades 6 and 8, we will have just one Zoom and cover both social studies and religion. However, I will not be starting the Zoom conferences until next week.
I have already posted a social studies assignment for each class, which is due on Monday, March 23rd at 9:00 a.m. In addition to daily assignments, once we finish a chapter or unit, there will be a test, as usual. The test might be in the form of an essay test, a document based question, or a multiple choice test through Google Forms. Also, the students might be assigned projects. That will be discussed during a future Zoom conference.
I know this is a lot to take in, and we are constantly being bombarded with news and information, so I encourage each of you to take a breath, and read Psalm 91. As I wrote to the students, even though we are not in the school building, my job is still the same- teach, help, and guide. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. Lastly, I would like to thank you for being wonderful partners in education. We are all in this together!
Blessings,
